From dark waters and through thick fog, Boorloo / Perth artist GIA COMO sheds light in a hazy, sax-laced alt-pop anthem on new single Don’t Call Me On Fridays, out Friday August 26 on Rockton Records.

“The song dips in and out of past and present tense in sharing a deep insight into probably the darkest day of my life. It was a Friday back in 2016, August 5th, when my mother passed away. I was woken up that day by a call from my father, I missed it as I was asleep, his voicemail played out over the home phone speaker in the living room, sobbing he tells me Mum has passed.”

The single is the first for GIA COMO (Jack Arbuckle they/them) since last year’s break out Madeleine, a track that was the most played on RTRFM in May last year.

Fridays features a broader production palette that makes it their most crafted release to date by adding more live instrumentation. The ballad-esque track Jack’s signature vocal range, crooning sax, cavernous drums, and an intimate narrative.
